The weather is finally starting to warm up, which means all the flowy summer dresses are coming out too! In today’s post I’m wearing another Banana Republic dress that’s not only gorgeous and light weight for a hot summer day, but also work appropriate and elegant for the office. Another multi use dress – I can’t get enough of those! This print pleated dress is perfect for any type of event you might have coming up whether it be a baby/bridal shower or just brunch with mom on Mother’s Day (better yet a gift for mom!). Glam it up with statement accessories like a belt or earrings for a night out, or layer up with a blazer for the office. Either way, you’ll get multiple wears from this dress and many compliments too! Check out this earlier post for another versatile dress that’s easy to style.
Now for some personal updates since it’s been a while since my last post. Life is moving at 100mph right now and doesn’t seem to slow down! Lately I’ve been struggling to find the time to write and edit photos for a blog post, never mind the time it takes to get the shots in the first place! Like I’ve said before, I will never rush to post something and have it lack in quality or content. I hate to sound like I’m complaining or giving excuses, but I just want to be real with you guys. I appreciate every single one of you who takes the time to read my blog, which is why it bums me out when I can’t seem to find the time to post often enough. Working a full time job and planning a wedding takes up most of my time, but blogging is still a huge passion of mine so Sandy Like The Beach isn’t going anywhere!
Wedding planning has consumed many of our weekends so far. It’s so much work but I’m loving every minute of it! People keep telling me how fast it all goes by and I believe them. Just the other day someone asked me how long we’ve been engaged and that’s when I realized it’s already been 7 months! Luckily we have plenty of time until the wedding day so I’m not stressed out or anything, but I wish time would slow down! I’ve been doing my best to take it all in and appreciate every single day, every single appointment Jon and I go to, and all of the decisions that we make together. It’s been working out so well; I do most of the research, organizing, and follow up, and Jon goes to every appointment with me. We’re such a great team, and that’s something we’ve always known but this whole experience has solidified that fact. We may not always be on the exact same page but we always make an effort to compromise. Planning our wedding day is a dream come true and we’re trying to make it very authentic to who we are while also being very enjoyable for our guests. I can’t wait for it to all come together but for now I’m completely enjoying the road that it’s taking to get there!
