A winter storm is coming tomorrow and we’re supposed to be getting up to 12 inches of snow! We only have two more weeks until it’s officially spring but it doesn’t quite feel like it yet. I was really looking forward to wearing my spring dresses again and cute rompers but it doesn’t seem like the weather is going to get warm enough for that anytime soon. Cue the leather jackets and other lighter coats that can be layered over almost anything!
The leather jacket I’m wearing in today’s post is my favorite and not just because of how cute it is, there’s also a sentimental value to it. I love items of clothing that have a story! This jacket’s story begins in Florence, Italy. I went to Italy with Jonathan and his family in the summer of 2016 and it was one of the most amazing trips I have ever taken. I’ve been to Europe before many times, specifically Portugal and France since I have family in both countries, so it was nice to explore a new country. It was beautiful to say the least, and even though I am 100% Portuguese at heart, my stomach loves Italian cuisine! We spent most of our time in Rome but we ended our trip in Florence. While in Florence we were walking all along the shops and of course leather jackets were everywhere. I decided to go into this one store where a jacket caught my eye and the minute I put my hands on it I knew I was never letting go. Italian leather really has a quality like no other so although it was a bit of a splurge, it was worth every penny and now every time I put it on I think about the incredible time I had in one of the most romantic cities in the world. So many people have been asking us lately where we’re thinking of going on our honeymoon, and Italy is definitely at the top of that list… 🙂
