It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog post! Since my last one it was my birthday and I turned 27 years old, the seasons changed and it’s now fall, and I reached 5k followers on Instagram (a special thank you to those who follow along and ready my blog – I appreciate you more than you know)!!! That all makes it sound like I haven’t posted on here in months, when it’s actually only been one month, but that’s how crazy life has been and how quickly it’s all going by! Having a career, a wedding to plan, friends and family to keep up with and spend time with, and maintaining a blog isn’t always easy, but I still really enjoy it so it’s all worth it to me. Sometimes I feel like I’m failing as a blogger, but the little things people say to me along the way is what motivates me and keeps me going. When someone tells me that they were inspired by one of my looks or that they bought the exact pair of jeans I posted and they couldn’t be happier with how they fit and make them feel, that’s what means the most to me. The best is when someone reaches out to me for advice; I’ve been asked which shoes someone should wear with their dress for a wedding they had coming up. I live for things like that – I wish I could help people make those decisions every day. For me, that’s what doing this is all about; it’s about connecting with people through fashion, showing them how they can express themselves with their wardrobe and feel beautiful, whether it’s in leggings and sneakers or a dress and high heels. It’s also about sharing my story and getting personal whether it be about the wedding, my family, or my faith, so that I might inspire at least one person with what I’m going through, good or bad.
My blog is also an outlet for me to be creative and showcase my style. I work in finance so I analyze and report numbers all day, which is why I love getting home at night and writing about the latest fashion trends or where we are in the wedding planning process. I also love sharing my weekend outfits because they’re more expressive and playful (or just plain comfy!) as opposed to the outfits I wear to the office.
At the end of the day, life is all about experiences and moments and who you share them with, and I love sharing that on this platform with all of you. I also do this specifically for family and friends to stay connected with Jonathan and I since our loved ones are spread out throughout the world. My blog is a multipurpose platform, but above all it’s meant to inspire people through my style and story. If you’re still reading this then I thank you and I’m so happy that you’re still on this journey with me as I’m slowly growing into this and trying to find my way in this overwhelming, but amazing blogging industry.
Now let’s actually talk about fashion and what I’m wearing in this post! It’s officially fall you guys, and whether you’re already drinking pumpkin spiced lattes or still holding on to your swimsuits, it’s time to start thinking about the latest fall trends and what your closet is missing. I bought this suede moto jacket during the Nordstrom anniversary sale and I couldn’t wait to share it with you guys on my blog! It’s so beautiful; I love the olive green color because I don’t have anything else in my closet like it, the quality is amazing, and it’ll match with almost anything. Moto jackets are everywhere this fall, they’re so easy to style with jeans, a dress, or even black leggings. I can’t wait to layer with this jacket once it starts getting a little cooler here in New York. Layering in the fall and winter is my favorite! Not only because I’m always cold haha, but also because it’s so fun to mix different pieces, colors, and patterns together to create a really fun yet cohesive look!
